Born in Beirut in 1988, Patrick Mitri—a filmmaker, photographer, and videographer—grew up in a post-war city filled with untold stories. A graduate of the American University of Science and Technology in Beirut with a degree in Communication Arts (Radio/TV/Film emphasis), Patrick’s passion for visual art and capturing human experiences has shaped a career deeply rooted in storytelling.
For over 15 years, he has worked in the Arts and Media sector, collaborating with major broadcast networks in the MENA region and international news outlets across Broadcast Television, Press Media, Films, and Art Installations. Throughout his career, Patrick has taken on numerous roles, including Director, Video Producer, Content Creator, Videographer, and Photographer.
His journey later brought him to Germany, where he pursued a master's degree in Visual Anthropology (Media and Documentary Practices) at the University of Münster. While completing his studies, he worked as a freelance videographer and video artist, collaborating with prominent cultural institutions and artists such as the LWL Museum and the Theater of Münster. Recently, Patrick completed his film EinQuartiert, funded by Stadtentwicklung Politik, Hansaforum, and B-Side, with support from Filmwerkstatt Münster. The feature premiered at Kurbelkiste Cinema in Münster.
Patrick’s work continues to explore themes of lived experiences, identity, subcultures, rituals, social dynamics, and the anthropology of space, blending visual art with anthropological insight to tell compelling human stories.
